Why Are There Upper and Lowercase Letters in English?

English is one of the oldest languages in the history of mankind. However, there are secrets behind the language which we overlook almost on a daily basis. One of those prospects is the history of upper and lowercase letters. Both these terms come from the way in which print shops were organized a hundred years back. Each of those metal types were kept in boxes known as cases. The smaller letters were kept in lower case, while the capital letters were kept in the upper case. This is how both of these terms came into existence.

But a thoughtful letter can be treasured for a long time. Think of this way, when you visit a historical museum, you see countless letters from famous personnel which are preserved for generations.
