How Did the United States Come to Be?
In the early seventh European settlers began to flock to the American colonies. This was largely populated by British citizens. While these people were citizens of their respective countries, the British government ruled the colonies. As time went by the citizens of the colonies felt less and eventually no allegiance to a country they have never seen or understood for that. The English began to need more money for their war with the French. They imposed exuberant taxes on the colonist, who had no idea why they were paying them. If you think about it the average life span was 40 years ago. This means that from the time of settlement until the revolutionary war broke out three generations later were the adults in charge. They have never seen Britain as anything, but occupiers. The colonists eventually went to war with the British government, that was already spread thin. The colonists eventual won that war and the United States was born.
