What is Morse Code?

Today as we play games on our smartphones, there was a means of communication that was way different than calls. The mode of communication was Morse code. Even though the technology came into existence approximately 160 years ago, it is still used to date on some ships. Morse code was developed in 1844 by Samuel Morse, and the original message to be transmitted was numbers. The receiver would then use a dictionary to translate the numbers into words. After that, the code then used punctuation marks and letters, which made it quite tedious.
