Subject Verb Agreement Worksheets

What is the Subject-Verb Agreement?

The subject-verb agreement in a sentence is referred to as the correct use of subject and verb in a sentence. The agreement part tells you about the compatibility of the subject and verb. It also reflects the quality of a sentence and its structure and tells about how well a sentence is structured and written. The concept is all about finding the most appropriate subject and verb as per the context of a sentence so that it may relate to the situation in which a sentence is being said. Finding the correct subject and verb for a sentence also solves the problems related to the subject-verb agreement. The basic rule of a subject-verb agreement states that a singular subject goes with a singular verb, whereas a plural subject goes with a plural verb. Subjects in a sentence always appear before the word 'of'; this is a significant rule which helps us have a better understanding of the subject-verb agreement.
